When her funding fell through at the eleventh hour, Charlene missed out on the chance to do an MA in journalism at Columbia University, but it served to show her just how much she ached to write. In 2023 she published Now You See Me: An Introduction to 100 Years of Black Design, and has written for many publications besides. Charlene is also the founder of A Vibe Called Tech, a creative agency and art consultancy
