Claire Bingham
Writer
After studying communication media at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, Claire decided to become a design journalist while working at Howe London, where Min Hogg, the founding editor of The World of Interiors, was a regular visitor. ‘I was surrounded by so much design, beauty and craftsmanship that I wanted to write about it,’ says Claire, who was homes editor of Elle Decoration until 2003, before leaving to work as a freelance writer in Milan and, later, Sydney. She has contributed to The Observer and Architectural Digest, and, now based in Manchester, photographs homes near her own as well as writing about them.
