First encounters matter greatly to Roger. Weekends spent in his father’s makeshift darkroom set him on his course, along with a ‘fantastically pretentious’ teenage flyer printed with The Smiths lyrics. He and his camera kit have since travelled to some remarkable places around the world guided by a simple rule: ‘just photograph what you love’
