Uuganaa Ramsay was born in Mongolia and raised in a yurt leading a nomadic life. After earning a place on a teacher-training course, she moved to the UK and now lives in Scotland. She wrote Mongol, her debut book, with support from the Janetta Bowie Chalice Non-Fiction Book Award, presented by the Scottish Association of Writers.
